WW - A Little Secret

I LOVE tequila.

It's out.

Straight up.

No lime.

No salt.

No, I don't drink too much anymore. [in fact this Almond flavored tequila makes a nice addition to an after dinner coffee drink.]

Yeah, I drank this shot after I took the picture.

It was yummy.

I'm not sure why I didn't latch on to my painting abilities and the enjoyment I get from it more than I did. After all, I breezed through all my scene painting classes in college with A's and painted murals for friends but I didn't really stop to focus on it or what I could do with it. I still enjoy it though, when I get a chance to paint - uninterrupted

Art is in the blood though.  My grandmother had it, my mother had it, I have it, my son has it.

The desire to create.

We always make time for that.

Happy Tuesday.

Baby Shower!

I went to my friend's baby shower last week and took some pictures. We had a blast, we created onsies and played a fun game of Trivial Pursuit - Baby Style that the host created herself! We also grazed on fresh berries and veggies and indulged in yummy gormet cupcakes.  What a blessing to celebrate in anticipation of a little new person.

Have mentioned how much I LOVE Red Velvet cake?

It tasted as good as it looks!

But did you ever notice that photographed veggies, just doesn't have the same appeal as berries?

Case in point, veggies...

 I went with the berries.

And how about this totally cute choo-choo train center pierce made with diapers and baby-washcloths.
Too much!

And I get to go back and photograph the new baby! Wee!!

Sunday Self #3

Sorry so late today, been busy.

Maternity Photographer | My First Maternity Session

I took maternity picture of a friends last week; she has ordered her prints and they'll be ready for the baby shower on Saturday. how fun it was! Here are a couple of my favorites and couple fun shots.

We had a lot of fun and tried some different things, I'm also going back for a newborn session in just a few weeks! Woot!

A New Hairdo?

He may be a boy, but he LOVES putting barrettes, clips and pins in my hair telling me, "you are beautiful, mommy."

Seriously though, if you see me on the street with a random hairclip oddly placed in my hair...please do tell!

Happy Wednesday!

There's free shipping through April 30!

And that gorgeous little girl on the front page, she is the inspiration for this WAHM business and such a joy to photograph!

Here are a few of my favorites from our session. I can't wait to take more of their family in the future!

Thanks again Julie and M., for a fun photoshoot!

Sunday Self

I have had this idea in mind for sometime, combining self portraits and scripture on Sundays. Here is my first entry. I spent many of my younger years not always excepting myself for who I am. Wanting a rounder face, less hair, fuller lips, different eyebrows, straighter legs, curly hair, bluer eyes, nicer teeth, stronger jaw line, darker skin, daintier fingernails, on and on and on. What does it all boil down to? I hate to admit it now, but not having a strong sense self (self esteem) at an early age.  But that was then, this is now.

I AM a beautiful person, created in exactly the way God intended. I am loved by my family and my Savior - unconditionally. I have wonderfully thick hair and legs shaped perfectly for horseback riding! Long before I was married, I began to tear down the walls of lies created in my head by silly, thoughtless comments from people who didn't know me, nor care. I put in the time and work to realize that who I am physically is NOT who I am. (and that there is not a thing wrong with me physically - as my husband and friends [and I] will attest to.)

Don't misinterpret this as a wah-wah over poor, poor pitiful me. Not in the least. This is just say that for some of us it takes longer to see ourselves the way God sees us. Out of the ashes of life comes the ability to see our true beauty - inside and out - and the strength and courage to embrace that beauty.

And to share beauty with others. That's why I love photography - I can capture the everyday beauty of the people and things that environ my life.

Join me as a embrace Who I Am through the camera lens.

But first, I REALLY do need a haircut!

By the skin of My Teeth...

I got through March. Here's a peek at the month's highs and lows.
