January 2008 has me pondering a lot of things. It seems that a lot of fellow bloggers have talked about simplifying - their life, their home, their corner of cyberspace. I've been busy doing a lot of things around here.
"Simplify" & "Organize" are great New Year's resolutions to take on, they are short-term goals more easily achieved.
Our church's theme for the first part of this year is "Transformation". How apropos for what I have been thinking about; what is going on in my own heart. Transforming my life inside and out on a spiritual level. Time to take back the land - so to say.
Finally, I wasn't able to go to my church's Women's Retreat again this year, but the theme was Beauty from Ashes from Isaiah 61:
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
I know all in attendance were very blessed; just meditating on Isaiah 61 is refreshing in it's self.
So I started here:
And Here:
I have a new space now, and if all goes well, I will find my "happy place" once again.
In 2008 I hope to:
Simplify
Organize
Transform
Rebuild
Renew
And Create Beauty for myself and my family.
Welcome to the adventure.
