Theme Thursday - Self

I am not one to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Not at all. On my honeymoon I periodically wrung my hands hoping and praying that the pictures would be at last - decent. Thanks to a fabulous photographer friend, I was not let down. That's how I am with pictures.

When I become too self conscience, it shows through. So needless to say, I didn't JUMP at this week's theme. In fact, because I am in the midst of finishing up the April issue of a monthly newsletter that I create, I haven't even picked up my camera. Which is sad, because I SO could have used it a couple times this week!

Then, as I was about to throw in the towel, I remembered some pictures that I took a couple of months ago - of myself. I was testing out the self-timer and tripod. Not too bad.

The G.I.D. loves it. That's all that really counts, now isn't it?

Well that, and hearing Harrison say, "You pretty mommy."

Very nice self portrait!
Hearing your son say you are a pretty mom is all you need to brighten your day. We moms like to hear stuff like that!
Thanks for dropping by my blog!
Have a nice weekend.
Eat a chocolate bunny or two...
or three.

I agree with your last comment. :) The first time my little boy said You pretty momma I about cried. He had this happy little smile on his face and you just knew he meant every word of it.

Even if you don't like pictures of yourself, I think the camera may secretly like you. It's a lovely black and white. :)

Thanks so much for you warm comments on my seed pods. I'm glad to be able to remind you of your youth. And to hear someone else had even seed these pods before is very cool. I didn't know they were in South Dakota and New Mexico. ;)

I like the shot too.

I also hate getting in front of the camera. Just not comfortable and end up critiquing myself and how fat I've gotten or how this or that.

Glad you found the courage to post the photo. You have nothing to worry about when you get in front of the camera.

You look great...and Harrison is sooooo sweet! :) You needn't feel self conscious at all in front of the camera.

Isn't that just the best feeling when they say that? I got all dressed up for my class reunion last summer and Kai asked if I was a princess. :)

Harrison is one smart cookie! You need to put that one at the top somewhere.
