Theme Thursday - Aged

I love aged/vintage things and buildings so I thought I would share a couple more diptychs of old things around my house.

This is an old fire engine at the Travel Town museum that we frequent. More favorites here.

And here is the junk pile behind my grandparents home. I love birch trees, my grandfather used to carve bark off the birch trees and make toy canoes for me.

Hop over to Land of K.A. to see more "aged" photos!

WOW that last picture is awesome - he carved bark to build you toy canoes, do you still have any of them - what a treasured memory! I also loved the bottles, how cool are they!

I love bottles. I don't know why, I just find them so interesting.

I love these! I like the diptych presentation. We have a few older items in our house that are from our relations. They are treasures to us. We have a Water Birch in our yard - I bet those creations by your Grandfather from the birch were very neat.

Love the things around your home! I wish I were more eclectic, but alas I am not!

Love that photo of the "junk" behind your grandparent's house.

Sadly, I no longer have the last birch-bark canoe. I have thought about that and how I would have liked to give it to Harrison. I'm not sure what happened to it over all the years of moving, etc. I do know that being a girl, I had painted a nice layer of translucent pink nail polish on the inside of the canoe.

Wow, the black and white junk is wonderful! I like your vintage tea sets. There is something wonderfully calming about tea and the beautiful and delicate tea cups and pots.
